to get up in front of others, or if they will miss out by waiting until they are older to start formal training.
Some parents worry their child is too shy, while others worry their bold, energetic child
won’t get the structured training they need to refine their natural talent.
The truth is, starting vocal training earlier makes a huge difference. Children who begin
learning healthy vocal habits at a younger age develop strong technique
and confidence that grows with them year after year.
Waiting until later often means undoing unhelpful habits,
which can be frustrating for both parents and children.
By starting now, your child can build a foundation that will serve them for life, whether
they pursue music seriously or simply carry their confidence into every area of life.

That is the transformation we see in the Broadway Belter’s Studio Class. This is not just another after-school activity. It is a safe, supportive space where children learn to:
⭐ Express themselves through song and performance
⭐ Build confidence that carries beyond the stage and into everyday life
⭐ Develop real vocal technique and stage presence
⭐ Make friends who share their love of performing
⭐ Shine in regular studio recitals, performing both group numbers and, as they grow, solo numbers too
an experienced vocal coach and performer who has worked with hundreds of students and taught thousands of lessons over the years. Through her teaching, students have grown in confidence, developed strong vocal technique, and discovered the joy of performing.
The supportive environment ensures that each student feels encouraged to:

Her students experience incredible transformations, from unlocking high notes they were convinced they could never sing, to building the confidence to step onto stage and shine. One of her recent students won First place at the National Association of Teachers of Singing Student Auditions in the Musical Theater Youth Category as a 6th grader competing with grades 6th-8th.
As a crossover artist, Liesl Cruz has performed widely in musical theatre, opera, and concert works, appearing on stage with Shreveport Little Theatre, Stage Center, the Emmett Hook Center, Shreveport Opera, and as a soloist in major choral works including Messiah and Mozart’s Requiem.
What she loves most about teaching kids is watching them unlock the magic inside themselves and bring it fully to the stage, transforming their own lives and inspiring their audiences through the stories they tell.
Parents can also feel confident knowing that Liesl Cruz is the only teacher for children/youth/teens in town certified in all three levels of Jeanie LoVetri’s Somatic Voicework™, a specialised pedagogical approach to vocal function. This means she has the knowledge to teach young voices in safe, healthy, and sustainable ways that lay the foundation for a lifetime of singing.
Her studio is a shame-free space. Students are held accountable for showing up and taking action, but they are never shamed. She does not believe in the myth of “talent.” Singing is a skill, and while some students show more aptitude in the beginning, every child who wants to learn can.

Absolutely. Whether your child has never sung on stage before or already loves performing, the Broadway Belter’s Studio Class is designed to meet them where they are and help them grow.
No audition is required. We believe every child deserves the chance to shine, and we’ll help them build their confidence and skills step by step.
Not at all! This class is for every child who loves to sing and perform. Some of our students start out shy and blossom in confidence, while others are already bold and expressive and want to take their skills to the next level. By working together, every child grows in their own way, and the mix of personalities makes the class even more fun and supportive.
Students perform in studio recitals throughout the year. Every class performs a group number, and as students grow in confidence and skill, they also have the opportunity to perform solo numbers. These performances are a celebration of their progress and a wonderful way for parents to see their child shine.
Spots are limited to 12 students.
Secure your child’s place today and watch them shine on stage and in life.
